About

As you may have already read in my first blog post, my initial experience with Celiac disease and the gluten free diets came quite early in my life.  After leaving home to attend college, I began to experiment with my own food preference.  I first decided to be pescetarian in 2006 for sustainability reasons and soon realized I had more energy without red meat or poultry in my diet.  Lately, I have been wondering if I have a gluten sensitivity since gluten intolerance runs in families (at varying degrees of severity). So, for at least the next month, I am attempting a gluten free, vegetarian diet.

Many of the gluten free blogs these days have delicious recipes and wonderful tips which I will no doubtedly reference in my cooking escapades within this blog.  One thing I want to add to gluten free blogging world is a quick and easily approachable way to go gluten free...especially for those who are just starting out.  Providing a way to keep the standard staples of ones cupboard in tact with just a few key changes and continuing to eat the foods you love.  (checking out my Flours page is a great place to start!)

Most of my cooking these days are dinners when I get home from work in the evenings.  I love fresh produce.  Anyone can woo me with fruits and veg!  The meal I really live for is brunch on the weekends!  Maybe it's because there are so many wonderfully sweet options or that my kitchen gets such glorious morning light or just cause it's a relaxing occasion to have people gather around delicious food...but really, it's for all those reasons!

What I hope to accomplish in this blog is to share a love of food, continue the awareness of gluten intolerance, and share some recipes along the way!
